At some point, I stopped caring what other people thought of me. Well, for the most part. There was a time when I was consumed by the idea that I had to fit in. I then realized that I don't really fit in anywhere and have since come to grips with that. Actually, I wouldn't have it any other way. Coming from a mixed heritage (Mexican and Haitian), I saw the world without a racial barrier. I still do not see how people could justify not interacting with others because of race. As I grew older, I began to stop grouping people by religion or sexual orientation. None of that really matters in the long run, since anything you can say about one group of people can apply to any other group of people.
