I'm Old

This is a weird time of life for me. I am realizing more and more that my body just flat out refuses to do a lot of stuff that i use to do. It seems that I lost a step and am not as fast as I use to be. I can't play as many volleyball games as I use to be able to, my body is sore a lot longer now then ever before after any physical activity, I'm just getting old.

What else? Well, I let my hair grow out for over a month. I found out that I have a lot of gray hairs, my hair is thinning out and all of this has been hidden from me since I shave my head all the time.

This is not related to being old but, yesterday, I stopped into a fleet feet to pick up my packet for the Ravenswood 5k. I decided to try out some track spikes that I saw and the sales guy sat me down and measured my foot. Now, I have always worn a size 11 shoe. The pair of running shoes I have now are 11s and they fit pretty well, just a bit of space between my toes and the front of the shoe. Well, apparently, I've been wrong about the size of my shoe this whole time because the guy told me I'm a size 9. A SIZE 9!!!! Wouldn't someone have told me at some point that I was buying shoes two sizes too big a while back ago? So, the guy brings out a couple of size 9 shoes and I can't get my foot into them at all. He goes up a size and still nothing. The moral of this story? If you have been wearing a size 11 for years, don't believe anybody telling you otherwise....
